2010 PSA Campaign

My Dear Parish Family,

As a parish community we journey together growing in our own relationship with Christ.  Every year we are given the opportunity to bring others along with us on our journey through our prayerful and financial support of the Pastoral Services Appeal.  Diocesan programs funded through the Pastoral Services Appeal help programs in the areas of faith and clergy formation and outreach ministries.

The Bishop recognizes the economic challenges that face us and has decreased this year's PSA allocation by 4% from last year's campaign.  The 2010 PSA allocation is $5,596,000, raised through the parishes. Further, the Bishop has rolled back all parish goals to the 2008 level. Our fair share goal for this year is $156,000.

I highly encourage you to join me in making a pledge of financial support to this very worthy campaign.  This month at Mass you will have the opportunity to fill out a pledge envelope stating how much you would like to pledge and how you are going to pay the pledge.  We have enclosed a pledge envelope in this mailing and encourage you to bring it to Mass with you this weekend.  If you are going to be away this weekend, please take the time to fill it out and return it to us as soon as possible.

Our annual Pastoral Service Appeal pledge is part of our response to the blessings and gifts God has given us.  We must ask ourselves, “What return shall we make to the Lord?”  While we receive many requests for gifts, our Church should be a priority consideration for our charitable support.  I pray that many of our parish households will take advantage of this opportunity and make a financial pledge to the Pastoral Services Appeal.  Any amount we raise more than the $156,000 will be given back to us and deposited in our building fund. Thanks to your generosity during last year's PSA we received over $54,000 in our building fund.

Our building fund will pay for the facility changes to meet our current and future needs to serve our ministries and our community. I am anxious to share my vision of what we might need, work with my advisory committees to articulate this to you and get your reaction.

Thank you in advance for your generous response. May we resolve to draw closer to the Lord daily through our prayers, actions and support of campaigns like the Diocesan Pastoral Services Appeal.

 Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Fr. Patrick Moses
