Confirmation
Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the "sacraments of Christian initiation," whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For "by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed."

St. Irenaeus Youth Ministry provides a safe and supportive environment that allows our youth to continually explore, develop and fulfill their relationship with Jesus Christ. Students are encouraged to not only grow their faith but to take that faith and make a difference in their community.
Peacemakers Ministry
Grades 7th and 8th
October - June
Tuesdays 7:00 – 8:15 PM in the Parish Hall
A fee applies for this program.
Junior high school students continue to explore and develop their faith through social, service and religious activities. Registration is ongoing – so come join us anytime!
High School Youth Ministry
Includes Confirmation Preparation
Grades 9th through 12th
September – June
Sundays from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Parish Hall
A fee applies for this program.High School Youth Ministry unites Confirmation Preparation with the Sunday Night Live (SNL) program. The two year Confirmation program meets in small groups and encourages students to further their faith exploration by attending SNL.
High School Youth Ministry invites teens to Sunday Night Live (SNL) whether they are preparing for Confirmation, wondering about their faith or just hanging with friends. SNL offers a safe and supportive environment for faith inquiry. This program welcomes ALL high school students seeking a stronger relationship with Jesus.

Sundays from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Parish Hall
No fee applies for this program.Peer Ministry supports the High School Youth Ministry and Confirmation Preparation programs. Peer ministers are involved in planning Sunday Night Live, retreats and other high school activities. Crucial to our Youth Ministry, these peer volunteers guide and encourage other teenagers to keep Jesus Christ in their minds, in their words, and in their hearts.

How To Help
The Youth Ministry needs volunteers to help St. Irenaeus’ teenagers continue to grow and nurture their relationship with Jesus Christ. We can use your assistance in the following positions:
- Small Faith Sharing Group Facilitators for Confirmation Preparation – this is a two year commitment (25 years and older, practicing Catholic)
- Sunday Night Live Core Team (18 years and older)
- Peacemaker Leaders (High School Students or Adults)
- Peer Ministers (Confirmed High School Students)
- Activity Chaperones/Drivers (25 years and older, valid driver’s license and insurance)
